"Moth at Rest" Threadpainted on
a very busy fabric. First, I drew the
moth on the back of the fabric and
stitched a black outline of the
moth- using black thread in the
bobbin. Then, I was able to fill in
my outline stitching from the front.
" Blue Fairburn Agate" is a small work incorporating novelty yarns into the
threadpainting. "Pink Fairburn Agate" also includes beads into the work. These rocks
really look like this.
This small shell is stitched with
two threads through the eye of
the needle to create a subtle
change of color and shading.
"Contemporary Crazy Patch"
in natural fabrics with decorative
machine stitching, with buttons
and beads added.
"My Springtime" detail. This little
rabbit and the azalea bush are at
my house. I love them and this
quilt is for my sister, Mary Ann, as
soon as it comes back from its trip
to quilt shows.
"Tufted Titmouse" threadpainted
study was the model for Ajay in "A
Midsummer's Daydream".
Threadpainted with cotton
variegated threads on linen.
" Coleus" 51"x51" As I recovered from spine surgery, the coleus in the
corner of the house was growing very fast. As fast as Russell's feet did
when he was 14 years old. Russell was in Afghanistan when I had
surgery. I designed as I recovered, thinking of him. I didn't make it until
he came home safe. This is a large threadpainting on purchased hand
dyed fabric.Other techniques include machine piecing, applique, quilting.
Suffolk puffs and beads were added.
"Karl"   is a very sweet dog in our
neighborhood. Solid
threadpainting on osnaburg with
YLI's Monet threads and cotton
variegated machine quilting
threads.
"Squirrel" is one of the
animals in my yard. This
one was stitched and
appliqued to the back of a
seminole patchwork coat.

10 variations of a simple
machine beading
technique. These ideas,
as well as the little
notion the "Beadle",
were developed over a
two and a half year
period. This is only the
beginning of the exciting
variations that can be
achieved with this
technique. The "Beadle"
